Institute Verum Felis is an independent research organisation dedicated to preserving all recognised cat breeds and promoting the well-being of all pedigreed cats. We help you fight disinformation and advocate for breed diversity through responsible breeding practices in the face of growing pressures to ban certain cat breeds or ban breeding of pedigreed cats altogether.

In some countries, these pressures have already resulted in bans on cat certain breeds, making our mission more urgent than ever. At Institute Verum Felis we believe that rich diversity in cat breeds and preservation of rare cat breeds through responsible breeding practices is important for the resilience and richness of the species as a whole. Furthermore, we find that balanced, scientifically verified information based on recent data, are crucial to understanding the real picture of health of pedigreed cats of all recognised breeds.
